KAMBA FIT PARTNERS WITH KICKS 4 KANSAS CITY FOUNDATION
Overland Park, Kan. – November 30, 2015 – Kicks 4 Kansas City, the area’s most current nonprofit organization, has partnered with Kansas City Rescue Mission to help provide shoes for those in need, through the collection of gently used athletic shoes. The foundation has made an significant presence in Kansas City, working with power partners in its mission. In the last month, the foundation has collected 1000 pairs of shoes, and counting.
“KCRM is so excited to be a beneficiary of Kicks 4 Kansas City!” said Julie Larocco, chief development officer. “We never have enough shoes to give to our homeless guests at KCRM, and it is heartbreaking when we can’t meet this critical need. Partnering with Kicks 4 Kansas City has allowed us to meet hundreds of men’s and women’s needs for months to come and spread this blessing to other shelters as well!”
Since 1950, KCRM has helped people in need. As a Christ-centered community and one of the metro’s largest mission centers, KCRM offers freedom and hope to the poor and homeless, empowering them to reach their full potential. With good food, safe shelter, comfortable beds, and clean facilities, the organization has a proven system in case management, recovery programs, amongst job and life-skills training as well. All these things intact, is the reason why hundreds of people come through their doors each year.
Providing for those in an misfortunate position was not the only reason the foundation chose KCRM as an beneficiary. “As the founder and CEO of Kicks 4 Kansas City, I was looking for a partner who went above and beyond the call of duty,” Callie Spear said. “After a warm meal and a place to stay, what happens next? I truly believe we are here to help others see what a different life we can all lead. Through the right people, places and timing, we can all learn the skill sets to handle the challenges and become better at who we are and what we do.”
In the coming weeks, Kicks 4 Kansas City’s Foundation partners will help raise awareness through special events, media promotions and appearances in some of the area’s most prominent businesses and school districts.
“What began as a small personal cause, has climbed the ladder in lacing our community together. I look forward to creating more momentum in Kansas City with this foundation, as well as meeting the individuals, businesses and other organizations who join us along the way,” Spear said.
